Great Barrington – New Restaurant Opening
Saturday, November 27th, 2010What was Pearls Restaurant in Great Barrington, Ma. is re-opening as Fiori in February or March.
I was just talking with some friends recently saying that what Great Barrington needs is a good Italian Restaurant. I am hoping that Fiori will be that restaurant.
This very visible Great Barrington, Ma. location which is situated on Railroad Street has been leased by two brothers who grew up part time in West Stockbridge, Ma. Their father was a musician with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The menu will be Northern Italian. According to reports one of the brothers has been working as a chef in some top restaurants in Boston, New York City and Italy. Fingers crossed that the food will meet the culinary standards of the Berkshire Restaurant crowd.
15 Holiday Things To Do In The Berkshires!
Saturday, November 13th, 2010I love this time of year in The Berkshires. Here is a list of 15 Holiday Things To Do In The Berkshires. The first winter I spent in The Berkshires was a time of exploration. I had decided that i wanted to buy a country home. Being the cautious person that i am I rented a beautiful house first in Stockbridge, Ma. The rental was for 6 months, hoping that would be long enough for me to see if The Berkshires was the right spot for me. The rental house was way big for me and my dog Spike, but i figured i was going to be inviting many friends to visit me in The Berkshires for weekends and i wanted to have plenty of room for entertaining. The house was owned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and used in the Summer months during Tangelwood. As i look back so many years later, I believe it was that first snowy Holiday Season, and Winter in Stockbridge, Ma. that made me fall in love with The Berkshires.
Here Are 15 Things To Do during this Holiday Season.
1. 26th Annual Festival of Trees
Each year, the Berkshire Museum spruces up the galleries with scores of festive trees decorated by community organizations, businesses, and school children. This year’s theme is Storybook Forest.

North Adams, Ma.
Wednesday, October 27th, 2010
We are happy to hear about the addition of a Center for Science & Innovation being constructed on the Massachusetts Center of Liberal Arts campus in North Adams.
A preliminary celebration of the long-anticipated educational windfall for the Berkshires was held on the campus of MCLA on Tuesday Oct. 26th.
This new center will house labs, classrooms and common spaces for biology, chemistry, physics and environmental studies, which are all currently fragmented around campus.
Since 72%t of MCLA’s students are Massachusetts residents, and 51 % are from Berkshire County the center will be an integral part in inspiring Berkshire students in the field of science. It will also lift the local economy by creating jobs now as well as creating a workforce for the jobs of tomorrow.
