Berkshire Lifestyle – Food Is Never Far Away

I am always amazed at how many many facets there are to The Berkshire Lifestyle .  I knew that the Berkshires had an active  Foodie and Locavore community.  Some of my clients who started out as food savvy tourists wound up buying here, and are helping to build this community.  What i didn’t realize was how far back the roots of this movement went. The nation’s first agricultural fair was held in Berkshire County in the early 19th century, and in 1986, when the country’s first two community-supported agriculture farms were established, one was in the southern Berkshires.  This New York Times article is a good primer for all that is going on in the Berkshire Foodie Community.  Eating locally is a tradition in The Berkshires  – Food Is Never Far Away.
