Berkshire County, Ma. Real Estate Sales are on the the upswing throughout the entire county according to the Berkshire County Board of Realtors. When they compared sales statistics between jan-may of 2009 & jan-may 2010 all the leading sales statistics are positive. Number of homes on the market (up 12%); dollar volume transacted in residential sales (up 48%); number of homes sold (up 21%); number of homes under agreement (up 28%) and rising median prices (up 10%), for all three regions in Berkshire County, Ma.
The overall spring selling season has been strong with $80.9 million in residential sales transacted in Berkshire County, Ma. in the first 5 months of the year, this is an increase from $54.6 million in the same period of 2009. As we have been saying since the crash this new economic environment hasn’t affected the Berkshire, Ma. Real Estate market as radically as other markets. Based on the indicators it appears as if we are bouncing back quicker.
We must remember though that this upswing is a good indicator, but there still is a ways to go to bring the market back to the levels seen in 2006.
