Berkshire Real Estate, Architecture / Design – A Return to “Less is More”?

At Berkshire Country Homes we read an interesting article about the roots and history of  “Less is More”.   The term coined by Mies van der Rohe ,  a philosophy used by other architects and designers of the  Bauhaus

Mies’s signature phrase means that less decoration, properly deployed, has more impact than a lot. Elegance, he believed, did not derive from abundance.

Berkshire Country Homes sees that as a whole Real Estate and Architecture is changing and that the decade of Mc Mansion’s and over consumption has waned with  the economic downturn.  Are we ready to re-invent the ” Less is More” concept especially in housing?

This New York Times article,  and readers comments explores that philosophy once again from a 21st century perspective.
